MSDS ON DISK

How are you maintaining your MSDS?  How often do you check to see if you have the current version of the MSDS for the materials you currently are using?  If you are like most organizations your MSDS are placed in binders and are not looked at again.  The manufacturer's of the products that you use in your workplace update their MSDS periodically and you are required to update your files with the new MSDS's.   In order to help you maintain your MSDS files we have developed an affordable program designed for small businesses.

 

Employer OSHA MSDS Requirements

1. Maintain a list of the hazardous chemicals that are present in the workplace.  This list shall use the identity on the MSDS and the product's label.

2. Maintain a copy of the MSDS that is readily available in the workplace, of each hazardous chemical on the above list.

3. Insure that all MSDS are current.

Once the list has been created, we can obtain current MSDS from the manufacturers and provide them on a CD that contains the following:

1. A list of the hazardous chemicals that are present in the workplace sorted by the name on the label.

2. A list of the hazardous chemical in the workplace sorted by manufacturer.

3. A list of manufacturers of the chemicals in your workplace with their contact information.

4. A current MSDS for each hazardous chemical that is on your list.

5. A glossary of the terms that are found on MSDS.

6. A copy of your written hazard communication program.

7. A copy of the OSHS hazard communication standard.
